On this pageWhat you need from accounting software in Bahrain
The best accounting software in Bahrain is the one that handles 10% VAT and National Bureau for Revenue (NBR) returns in Bahraini dinars, in Arabic and English. Wafeq is a cloud option with a Bahrain version, Odoo is an ERP platform delivered through partners, and Tadbir ERP is a 14-module system FRESME implements from its Manama office. This is a neutral comparison based on what each vendor publishes.
Vendor websites were last reviewed in November 2026. We quote no prices or ratings. Unlike Saudi Arabia, Bahrain has no mandatory national e-invoicing platform yet, so the key test here is correct VAT handling and reporting.
What you need from accounting software in Bahrain
- 10% VAT: VAT on each invoice, the split between standard, zero-rated and exempt supplies, and the figures for your NBR return. You or your accountant should review the return before filing.
- BHD and foreign currencies: invoices in USD, SAR or EUR, with exchange rates fixed at the invoice date.
- Two languages: invoices and reports in Arabic and English.
- Cross-border trade: many Bahraini companies sell into Saudi Arabia, so cross-border customers and suppliers should be handled cleanly.
- Local support: someone who answers in Bahrain time, in Arabic, and knows NBR requirements.

Comparison table for the Bahrain market
Details come from each vendor's own website and describe what the vendor says about itself. Where we did not find Bahrain among what the vendor announces, we say so, and you should ask the vendor directly.

|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tadbir ERP (FRESME) | Integrated 14-module ERP, implemented and customised by FRESME, on servers in Bahrain and KSA | Arabic and English | FRESME has an office in Manama; the system provides the VAT figures for the NBR return | Mid-size and large companies, multi-branch or multi-company |

A closer look at each option
Tadbir ERP by FRESME
Tadbir ERP is an integrated system with 14 modules running at 85+ businesses, in Arabic and English, with multi-company and multi-branch support. For Bahrain it provides the VAT figures needed for the NBR return, which you review before filing. Its servers are in Bahrain and KSA, and FRESME implements and customises it around your process from its Manama office. It is an implementation project, not an invoicing app you start in an hour, so it suits companies wanting one system for accounting, inventory, purchasing, sales and HR.
Wafeq
Wafeq is cloud accounting and invoicing. Its site has a Bahrain version showing BHD, with an Arabic interface available, and publishes content on Bahrain VAT return filing. Per its site it offers invoices, quotes, purchase orders, inventory, payroll and 40+ financial reports. We did not find details of the return format it produces for Bahrain, so ask for a demo on your own data before subscribing.
Odoo
Odoo is a modular ERP platform available as an open-source community edition and an enterprise edition. We did not find Bahrain among the accounting localizations in its official documentation, so VAT set-up and reports go through your implementation partner. The strength is flexibility; the risk is that quality depends on the partner, so ask for previous Bahrain projects.
Qoyod and Daftra
Qoyod and Daftra are strong cloud systems in the Saudi market and both offer Arabic and English. We did not find Bahrain among the countries their sites announce, so we cannot say they cover Bahraini VAT. If they are on your list, ask the vendor in writing to confirm BHD support and the NBR return.
Which one suits you
- Small or freelance business: a cloud option such as Wafeq, with a free trial and a question to the vendor about the Bahrain VAT return.
- Bahraini accounting firm: Wafeq says it also serves accountants, so test it on a client case.
- Mid-size or large company with inventory, purchasing and branches: Tadbir ERP, or Odoo with a local partner, because your needs go beyond accounting.
- Bahraini company also trading in Saudi Arabia: Tadbir ERP offers servers in Bahrain and KSA and FRESME offices in Manama, Riyadh and Jeddah.
- A company that wants someone to own the whole implementation: Tadbir ERP, implemented and customised by FRESME.

FAQ: accounting software in Bahrain
What is the best accounting software in Bahrain?
There is no single best for everyone. Small businesses have cloud options such as Wafeq, which shows a Bahrain version. Companies needing inventory, purchasing and branches suit an ERP such as Tadbir ERP or Odoo. What matters is accurate handling of 10% VAT and Bahraini dinars.
Is e-invoicing mandatory in Bahrain?
As of this review, the NBR has not published a mandatory date, platform or format for e-invoicing. Saudi ZATCA rules do not apply in Bahrain. Choose a system flexible enough for what is announced later, and check the NBR website regularly.
Do Qoyod and Daftra work in Bahrain?
Qoyod's site shows Saudi Arabia and Jordan, and Daftra's names Saudi Arabia, UAE, Egypt and Jordan; we did not find Bahrain among their announced countries. That does not mean they cannot serve Bahrain, but ask the vendor in writing about BHD, VAT and the NBR return.
Does Tadbir ERP support Bahrain VAT?
Yes. Tadbir ERP provides the VAT figures needed for the NBR return, in Arabic and English and in Bahraini dinars, with multi-company and multi-branch support. The return is reviewed before filing. FRESME implements and customises it from its Manama office.
Where is Tadbir ERP data stored?
Tadbir ERP has servers in Bahrain and KSA, and the right location for your company can be set during implementation. With any vendor, ask where your data is stored and how you can export it if you change systems.
Want a plain assessment of what fits your company? See Tadbir ERP or contact FRESME in Manama, and we will tell you if a simpler tool is enough.
